I am a San Francisco artist living in Hayes Valley for the last 20 years.
My love for this city started after I move from Stockton and discovered the wonder of this city's diversity in geography, ethnicity and appreciation for life. "From the beginning, I wanted to celebrate the distinct neighborhoods that peppered the San Francisco peninsula."
A native Californian who grew up in Stockton. California. Chez Rhonel was actually born in French California where "a group of fur traders camped" So it's not surprising that he has a French name and loves Paris France!
"The more I painted to more I began to explore my passions and vision of colors that surrounded me in San Francisco, Paris, and the sounds that emerged from Jazz with such a rich palette of hues, shapes and emotion."
My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
LeCoton is an inspiring new development in Rhonel's passion work. The story of LeCoton visually narrates the long and conflicted relationship with cotton and the American journey. In Rhonel's LeCoton series, he masterfully celebrates the cotton plant with his joyous color that states both struggle and reconciliation in many medium that include, tapeography, poster prints, mixed media originals, and textile products (napkins, table runners, pillow cases, etc.)
Tapeography has been a unique approach to the artwork that was inspired by depicting the neighborhoods of San Francisco. This has also led to art classes taught throughout corporate and business using art as team building and creative development with office culture.
Rhonel is also no stranger to acrylic, oils, mixed media and digital art creation. An avid user of iPad and the Procreate app, one can see the subtlety and striking use blended color and sharp delineation of shapes and hues.
From the beginning of Rhonel' creative journey, he worked with CAD systems as a designer at Lockheed Missle and System after which eh found himself working at Apple as a Creative Pro using the blend of art and technology. At Apple Rhonel conducted numerous design and creative sessions where his passion for art was shared with Apple Customers.
The last few years have seen an explosion in Rhonel's outpouring of thematic art from his Hunter's Point studio. His growth year over year has launched a new venture into textiles, fabrics and clothing with the LeCoton narrative.
